This week started off with us finishing up on the theory stuff. We finished up with ergonomics, and started networking. It wasn't too bad and it was nice to get a little break from programming. I learned about ergonomics last year in business so some of it was review.
After the theory we started our final project. I am in a group with Ji ho and Geoff. I am happy with the group and we divided up the tasks in a good way for me. I am doing numbre one and two. They are not overly complicated programs, but will be a challenge for me. I am looking forward to finishing them with the help from my group members.

status report april 2-5
This week we mainly worked on our programs which we had groups for. The program has to do with a pizza/ other foods, where people can click on what they want, and the price will show up. My group and I had some trouble with it, and received some help from the teacher and other class mates. It is a pretty difficult program, and our group is having some trouble with it. Even though we are not done yet, we are still pretty sure we can finish it next week.
This program is very time consuming, and can get very frustrating at times. I'm staring to get a better understanding of the whole programming thing, and i think that working in pairs or groups is really helpful, and is a good thing which we should do more of. There some things that i may know that my partner may not know, and vice versa. We can help eachother, and makes programming a lot more fun and easy.

Weekly status report March 19-23
this week in TIK we learned some new stuff, and i am finding it very difficult to do. WE learned about new things like single and string values, integer, boolean, byte, and others. WE also learnt what they meant and then used what we knew about them and applied them to our programs. We did a program with temperature conversion, where we had to use a knew control, the Hscrollbar, it is not to compilated to use and it makes your program look cool.
As for next week, i hope i can get a better understanding or the things we learned this week, and hopefully we don't learn anything new or have a test. It would be good if we slowed down a bit and did a few more programs involving this stuff, so hopefully myself and others can aquire a better knowledge of this stuff, because it is very confusing and difficult.

Weekly status reports
This week we learned a lot more about Visual Basic. We developed programs using If and else, and we also learned about Case. Both are very convenient when dealing with multiple cases. I liked making many programs using if and else. One program used a lot of cases, and I decided to use If and else for that situation. It took a lot of time, but it worked out in the end.
I ran into several challenges while programming, most of which were logic errors. I learned about the three types of errors, run time, compiler, and logical.
time.We also got sheets on debugging a program and compiler/run time errors. By understanding how to debug, it will make you a better programmer for the future. Tomorrow, the majority of the class is handing in an assignment that is able to focus on the Select Case functions, luckily i alread handed mine in.

Weekly status report #3
This week started out with warmer weather, which I was quite happy to finally see. Spring is soon, and this Winter feels like it has been too long. Week three began with a test in Computer Programming. The test included flow charts, problem solving, and our introduction to the world of computers. After the test, we recieved a flow chart assignment for homework. This mini assignment was to make a flow chart so you can input three seperate numbers, and output them in ascending order.
After that we started our first bit of computer programming. The first assignment I had to do in VB was a tax calculator. though we had instructions to follow, some changes needed to be made to the program, such as changing the TabIndex of each control. with some reasoning and help from the teacher I solved this problem and finished the tax calculator.

Weekly status report # 2
This week, for me, wasn't as productive as the last week mostly because there wasn't as many tasks to complete which were on the computer. Most of the tasks that we did were just little assignments that we had to do. One assignment that was more than just a little task was the flowchart task which was given on Friday and to complete for Monday. I didn't do well on that. One of the lessons was that I should thoroughly read the question before i start it so I don't do the right thing. The other lesson that I learned this week by doing this task was that if I don't fully comprehend a question, then I shouldn't just put down an answer that I think makes the most sense just to get it done. Two more assignments that we had to do were an essay about computer ethics and a paragraph on the difference between a mainframe computer and a supercomputer.
In class we went over a lot of topics since we didn't have a lot of other assignments to do. The first thing that we did was talk about different computer terms like hardware, software, and programs. We also went over what output/input/peripheral devices, and how to classify computers (supercomputer, mainframe, minicomputer, microcomputer, and laptop).
The only work left over from the week is to study for the test on Monday. The challenges I faced were when converting the different types of memory and concerning cryptography. To solve my memory conversion problem I asked a friend for help. To solve my cryptography problem I consulted the teacher.
